Parkinson's headstone

The fine gravestone of Canon Richard Parkinson is outstanding both for its size and design. It is recorded that his funeral was a huge and solemn affair, with a long procession of collegians, parishioners and clergy, and that "The farmer's sons and the younger farmers requested the privilege of bearing the corpse to its resting place in the graveyard."

Next to this stone is the grave slab of Rev'd William Ainger, the first Principal of the College.
