St Bees Priory

The Dandy Walk

Theological studentsOne theory is this was named after the "Dandified" Theological College students who paraded here in their caps and gowns. It runs along the St. Bees School Memorial field from the road that runs past the Priory to the Beach Road.

It is now used as a village walk and by St Bees School pupils as a safe route to Abbotts Court, one of the School's houses.

Farmery MeadowThe field called Farmery Meadow most likely got its names from the Monks' "Infirmary", which traditionally was always placed a little distance to the south of the main Church.
