The Parish Boundaries

The Parish of St. Bees stretches from Barrowmouth to Coneyside on the coast, and as far inland as the River Keekle and includes some of the best coastal scenery in the north west of England.

The parish is based on the old parish boundaries of Rottington and St. Bees, and parts can be traced back 1000 years. The parish includes the burgeoning science park at Westlakes Science Park, which is the new home for the NDA (Nuclear Decommissioning Authority), and it extends inland well up the St. Bees Valley. Some residents of the growing community of Moor Row are suprised to find they are in St. Bees Parish, which curves round and approaches from the North East.

This map is not definitive, and is intended as a general guide only. Any queries over electoral matters should be referred to the Electoral Roll Officer, Copeland Borough Council.
