St Bees Parish Council

Publication Scheme under the Freedom of Information Act 2000

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 every Parish Council is required to adopt and maintain a publication scheme setting out the types of information it will make available, how that information can be obtained and whether a charge will be made for that information. The purpose of this publication scheme is to be a means by which the parish council will publish more information proactively, and help it to sustain openness and transparency.

The scheme contains core classes of information that correspond with the main functions carried out by the Parish Council. The following lists the ways in which the Parish Council will make the information available.

1. Council Internal Practice and Procedure

Minutes of council, committee and sub-committee meetings – limited to last 2 years

A hard copy is available from the Parish Clerk on request or available for inspection by contacting the Parish Clerk. Current copies are posted on the parish notice boards, and current and historical copies are posted on the web site.

Information concerning changes to the electoral arrangements for parish, town and community councils. Including recommendations for the creation of new wards, the amendment of existing wards, proposals for the names of new wards and alternations to the number of councillors to be elected to the council
