Village Events
St Bees village is fortunate in having numerous events taking place throughout the year; many are community events, others, such as the Organ Recitals, have a national or even international flavour. Some of the more notable events are recorded under Past Events
Also, within a short distance of St Bees, we have the Rosehill Theatre, Whitehaven Civic Hall, & Wyndham, where many musical (and other events) take place. One particularly talented, now London based concert pianist, Sam Haywood, is from St Bees, and we are fortunate to have fairly frequent recitals in the area from him.
The wealth of musical and artistic talent in the village has resulted in several village and school music and choral groups, and a village youth orchestra, with recorder, junior and senior groups within it. All give regular performances in the village, and in some cases, even internationally.
In addition there are regular Art lectures through the Arts Society, as well as occasional lectures on other subjects. A number of organisations hold regular meetings on a wide variety of topics. The index on the left leads to general information about the events.
