Ellen MacArthur Trust
“The Ellen MacArthur Trust is a national organisation that gives young people between the ages of 8-18 who have suffered from cancer and leukaemia the opportunity to take part in the new and fantastic experience of sailing. The majority of our young people are off treatment and in recovery from cancer and leukaemia. These young people are recruited by our contact (usually a nurse or Clic Sargent social worker) at the hospital or group we work with, as they are more involved with the young people at the hospitals and so aware of who would benefit the most from the trip. The young people can continue to sail with the Trust up until their 18th birthday or remission date.
The Trust was launched by the internationally-renowned sailor Ellen MacArthur on 2nd January 2003”.

Priory Halls
Old College Hall, a Grade I listed building, is currently a “no-go” area following the fall of one of the corbels on the ceiling. This in turn is due to the dampness caused by a long term leaking roof. New College Hall (Grade II), while still useable downstairs, has a chimney which is loose and could fall on to the Barony car park and so that has had to be closed resulting in parking problems for the School, Priory and others.
The PCC has therefore decided to undertake a major refurbishment of both halls and is appl;ying for grants towards the repairs to Old College Hall roof, ceiling and walls.
More information about this project can be seen at the back of church.
