Public toilet at the beach (Parish Council)
We are fortunate in still having one public toilet in the village; it is at the Seacote Beach and is now run by St Bees Parish Council after the district council announced it was going to close it in 2013. So it's now financed from the parish rate for the benefit of village residents and the many thousands of visitors that we get every year.
It's open every day of the year, excepting Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
It's next to the large Copeland Borough car park by the caravan site.
The toilet block carries information boards about the area and the beach. There is additonal information and walking maps in the nearby shelter, which is sponsored by the caravan site.
Dog toilet (Copeland Council)
At the beach there is also a dog toilet, run by the district council; next to the human toilet block.
It should be noted that failing to clear up after your dog could result in a fine of up to £1,000 (yes - one thousand). See also Dogs whilst on the subject.
