Keith and his family set out to provide West Cumbria with one of the best cafe/restaurants in the area and there is no doubt that they have succeeded. Situated in a modern eco-friendly building, adjacent to his extensive nursery, it serves a wide range of local produce cooked in-house, as well as genuine Italian and Thai dishes. Many of the Italian dishes, such as pizzas, lasagnas, and other pasta dishes are produced in genuine wood fired stone oven imported from Tuscany.
The whole building is extremely eco-friendly, from the foundations which use stone sifted from the compost he manufactures for the nursery, to the unique wood burning boiler which uses compressed wood pellets made from sawdust which normally would go into landfill sites. Even the pizza oven uses recycled clean hardwood pellets.

Although this new venture of Keith Singleton's is a 10 minute drive from St Bees, it is well worth taking the time even if it only for a coffee and snack. The Cappuccino & pizza I had there is the best I have had outside of Italy.
It is open every day from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and on selected evenings during the week for special themed nights. Sunday lunches are so popular that they are by reservation only!
