Died of malarial fever at Salonica 1918, aged 23.


From the Whitehaven News, 17th October 1918:

"On September 2th ult at general Hospital, Salonica, from malarial fever, William James Ashburner, beloved son of Joseph and Isobella Ashburner, of Rottington, St. Bees, late of Gosforth, aged 23 years."
