Buried with military headstone in St. Bees Priory graveyard.

Alfred Taylor appears on the 1901 census aged 4. His father, Harry Taylor, who was 44 at the date of the census, had been born in Whitehaven. He was classed as "unable to work". His mother Elizabeth, aged 41, had been born in Patterdale. There were then six children in the family, five boys and a girl: Alfred was the fifth child.
