By Bus to St Bees

There are bus services to Whitehaven, and these can be considered, particularly if you are on a tight budget. However fastest travel time from London to Whitehaven for example is almost 9 hours, whereas fastest train time London - Carlisle is 3hrs 25m (The Royal Scot).

Searches for journeys from other airports seemed even longer, but the routes being suggested on the National Express web site were surprising! Not recommended unless you want a circuitous sight seeing trip of northern England.

There are no national bus services direct to St Bees so any searches you make should have Whitehaven as your destination.
