Past 2 Days --
Past week St Bees Weather Station A regular request from prospective visitors, particularly overseas ones, is "What's the weather like in May/June/September/ ... ". Well, hopefully this will eventually tell you exactly what our weather is like. Various options can be selected from the above links. A weather station has been setup in association with the St Bees Village Primary School, funded in part by the generosity of some village businesses & by Neighbourhood Forum - See Credits. The children and villagers and visitors alike have access to the data via the St Bees web site. The solar radiation data can be seen via the raw data options. The weather station was setup in 2006, but we can't add retrospective data to the program, so the historic data at present is sparse! There are a few gaps due to the occasional unservicability. The data is updated at various intervals - fast changing data (wind speed/direction) every 5 minutes, slower changing data every 30 minutes. Historic data is updated every morning. We welcome comments on this new facility (via the Forum). LATESTDue to a problem with the weather sensors, some of the data shown for 2009 is missing or incorrect. We did not have summer temperatures in early February!!! The outdoor sensor currently has an intermitent fault and like all intermittent faults, is proving hard to track. In the meantime I am very grateful to my supplier, John Dann of Prodata Weather Systems, who has kindly lent me an outdoor sensor whilst ours is being repaired. Considering I bought the unit 4 years ago this is service well above the call of duty! Thank you John!

Somewhat foolhardy! Sign reads "Use of the promenade is at your own risk".
