Regular events

Fete – now the “Bees Bash”

The Village holds an annual Fete, the “Bees Bash”,  supported by the Parish Council and the Village School , complete with Fancy Dress Parade along Main Street and various games on the St Bees School playing field or the Adams Recreation Ground.  There are usually stalls and refreshments, including a beer tent.

Garden Show
The summer Garden Show is held annually in the St Bees School Sports hall, with floral, vegetable and handicraft sections. Always a well-supported show, it attracts growers from Carlisle down to Barrow and holds its own against competition from the bigger Cumbrian shows.

Beached Art

An annual competition to build an artistic representation on a specified theme from sand and beach flotsam.

Santa Parade

Each year Santa visits the village in December. His sleigh
leaves the turning circle by the entrance to the Fairladies estate and travels along Main Street where Santa switches on on the lights on the Christmas tree at Cross Hill.
The traditional carol concert at the Lifeboat Station follows later in the evening. Everyone (young or old!) is welcome to come and watch and join in the fun!

St Bees Mummers

Every year the mummers perform in the village pubs on Christmas Eve.

New Year’s Day

A.M. – Tractor trundle to the beach,
P.M – pram race down the Main Street
