7-day train service between Carlisle & Barrow/Lancaster with 30 weekday trains stopping at St Bees

The most flexible method if touring. C2C walkers would possibly face a parking problem.

There are national bus services to Whitehaven, but no bus to St Bees. They are much slower than rail.

Not as easy as the picture implies – we are 3 hours travel time from any main airport.

There are car parks at two beaches and the railway station.
